“Fairness is the basis of a number of things in human relations and I like finding it in all situations. At Aspena it is like that,” says Matúš Kováč, who works as a sales manager.
As I am a “sales rep”, I spend most of my working time searching for new, and meeting potential, customers. I look for clients on the Internet; I speak to them at fairs, business missions or cooperation markets.

How I googled my way to Aspena

Just three clicks… Google, “Vacancies”, Aspena. It looked good, so I went for it! It's not like they would contact me by themselves. A few interviews later and here I am!
I simply needed a change. I needed to change a job which did not really give me satisfaction and I also wanted to progress in my career, to learn something new. After some time I can say that it was one of the best decisions I have recently made.

What do I actually do?

As I am a “sales rep”, I spend most of my working time searching for new, and meeting potential, customers. I look for clients on the Internet; I speak to them at fairs, business missions or cooperation markets. The possibilities are many. Simply said, I hunt for contacts wherever I can. I only interrupt my search when I need to prepare a quotation for a customer who has shown interest and said they would appreciate such service. Then I focus only on calculation. It is an important step which should not be spoilt by a short moment of inattention.

What can I highlight?

You're probably expecting that I will write only great things about my company and my workmates, one positive thing followed by another. But it is really true. Since the first interviews I have felt a fair attitude. Fairness is the basis for a number of things in human relations and I like finding it in all situations. At Aspena it is like that. Equal treatment helps ensure fairness and thus also good relations among colleagues, which makes Aspena a nice company to work for, in my opinion. And it is also nice that you get paid regularly.

I enjoy it.

That is probably most important. And I am glad that I do and that I realize it. My job, the job of a sales representative, is varied. I like it precisely because it is so diverse; every working day is a bit different to the previous one. It is OK for me to go to meetings, to meet new people, to respond to their questions and requests and to inform them about the top-quality products and services which Aspena offers. If I did not believe it myself, I could not offer it to them. And the customer would discover that.
It is often very pleasant to go to business meetings and to get out of the office. Many experts say that it is not good to spend a long time sitting at the computer, and my monitor is not correctly positioned according to the “Ergonomics in the Office” manual, Part 6, anyway.

The added value of my new job

Where do I find it? In my personal life. At Aspena I have learnt that it is important to deal with all things immediately and not to postpone anything, not even for five minutes. I suppose that you have heard things like this several times and I don't want to moralize. But it is really worth mentioning. It has been confirmed many times in relation to my job and I can see myself translating this new work experience of mine into activities I do in my personal life. It does not mean that I was totally disorganised before but I am much more successful now. I just need to keep going like this and everything will be fine.

I am planning to continue

Although I do not know if I will manage to position my monitor correctly as required by the manual, I will definitely not stop going to meetings. I decided to work in the business world four years ago and, if I do something or spend my time on something, I never give up too easily. It would be a pity.
